GRAB - Biographical and multi-level research group Organised as a network, the research group offers multiple activities (with a methodological approach) on the analysis of interactive processes and complex links between different events within individual courses, on conceptualization of intermediate categories (surroundings, network, family circle) and their implementation in data collection and analysis. The unit's activities are divided between reflection groups, seminars, training and expertise around the implementation and the assessment of specific tools of data-collection and analysis. They rely on the biographical approach group (GRAB) that brings together researchers in different fields (demography, geography, sociology etc.) from several French and international institutes and that has been relying on the experience of 25 life event history surveys carried out in France, Africa, Asia and Latin America.
